The Dual Master’s program in Nano-Electric Engineering and Design (NEED) is opened for international students of 2018 entry

This is a dual degree program where students will obtain two master degrees upon successful completion of their course works and thesis.  One degree will be from Chang Gung University (CGU), and another one will be from Singapore University of Design and Technology (SUTD), which is a joint venture of Singapore Government with MIT, USA.   There will be 30 students in the NEED program, 15 students will be recruited from CGU and 15 ones from SUTD.  Hence, the instruction language for this program is English.

For the course works, students will take their courses in Taiwan, and it consists of 4 core courses, namely Introduction to VLSI; Test and Measurement for VLSI, Advanced transistor modeling for VLSI and Reliability Engineering. Students are also requested to choose 4 other courses, either in IC Design Track or Semiconductor Manufacturing Track.

While students are taking courses in Taiwan, they will also need to choose their thesis title and do their literature search for their thesis. Each thesis will be supervised by one Professor in CGU and another Professor in SUTD.  They can access to the library database of both CGU and SUTD. Upon completion of 9 months of course works, students are to go to Singapore for another 9 months where they will do their thesis using the advanced research facilities in SUTD. Many of their projects will be industry related, and hence they might do their projects in the premises of companies in Singapore that are mostly multi-national companies.
